Medical Laboratory Science and Medical Laboratory Technician Educator Survey

In 2023, the American Society for Clinical Pathology’s Board of Certification and Research and Development Committee launched its third Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Educator Survey and its first iteration of the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Educator Survey. The goal of these surveys is to capture the wages and vacancies of medical laboratory educators as well as the evolving trends of medical laboratory education.   

For MLS programs, a total of 81 university program directors (PD), 93 university faculty, 53 hospital PDs, and 54 hospital faculty answered the survey. At the time of the survey, all MLT programs were university-based. For MLT programs, a total of 106 PDs and 53 faculty answered the survey.
